Monday October 3rd

AP Biology- At the beginning of class, the students watched the safety video.  Next, they performed the activity- clock partners.  Third, the students took the quiz over chapter 2.  Finally, they were assigned to read chapter 3.


Biology A- Today, the students took a quiz over cell organelles and their functions.  Next, they took notes over diffusion and osmosis.  Finally, I assigned the chapter 7.4 assessment questions #1-4 and worksheet 7.4.


Chemistry A- First, the students took a quiz over ionic compounds (naming and writing).  Next, they watched the video- Compounds and Reactions.

Friday September 30th

AP Biology- First, the class discussed the essay question on yesterday's test.  Next, the students took notes on chapter 2 (chemistry review).  There will be a quiz over chapter 2 on Monday.


Biology A- To start things off, the students graded the 7.3 worksheet.  Next, they took vocabulary quiz #3.  Finally, the students worked on staining slides and viewing the slides under the microscope.  There will be a quiz over Cell Organelles and Functions on Monday.


Chemistry A- Beginning class, the students worked with their 6 o'clock partner to go over yesterday's worksheets.  Then, the class took notes over naming with polyatomic ions.  Finally, I assigned a worksheet over naming and writing ionic compounds.  There will be a quiz over naming ionic compounds on Monday.

Thursday September 29th

AP Biology- Today, the students took the Unit One and Unit Two Test.  Print out the Chapter 2 outline for class tomorrow.


Biology A- First, the students finished the notes on organelles.  Second, the class discussed the Cell Model Project that is due Wednesday Oct. 5th.  Third, I assigned a Plant/Animal Coloring worksheet along with the Chapter 7.3 worksheet.  Finally, I assigned the assessment questions 7.3 #1-4.


Chemistry A- Class started by taking notes on naming and writing binary ionic compounds.  Then, I assigned two worksheets over the material.

Wednesday September 28th

AP Biology- First, the students took notes over Chapter 55.5.  Then, we review the Lab #12 Assessment and discussed the lab.  Finally, I fielded questions about the Unit One and Unit Two test.  The Test is tomorrow.


Biology A- To start things off, the students graded the worksheets (7.1 and 7.2).  Next, we graded the Microscope quiz.  Third, the students took notes over organelles.  Finally, the class finished the Lab on Microscopes.  I did not assign the WS- Plant/ Animal Cell coloring.  It will be done tomorrow.


Chemistry A- Today, the students took the test over bonding.

Tuesday September 27th

AP Biology- To start class off, the students took the Lab #12 Assessment.  Next, they took notes over Chapter 55.3 and 55.4.  Two days until test day.


Biology A- First, the students took a microscope quiz.  Next, they took notes over Cell Types and the Plasma Membrane.  Then, the students continued to work on their Microscope from Monday.  Finally, I assigned the Worksheets over Chapter 7.1 and 7.2.


Chemistry A- Today, the students attempted to take a test on WebAssign.  However, it was a bad tech day and the test didn't work.  So, the students printed out two sheets (the ion sheet and the polyatomic ion sheet) for Thursday.  They will take the bonding test tomorrow.

Monday September 26th

AP Biology- First, the students took notes over sections 55.1 and 55.2.  Then, the class worked on their Lab #12 questions.  The Lab #12 assessment will be tomorrow.


Biology A- To start off class, the students took notes over the Cell Theory and Microscopes.  Then, they started the Microscope lab.  Finally, I assigned the Section 7.1 assessment questions #1-4.  Also, there will be a quiz over the microscope tomorrow.


Chemistry A- Today, class started by 1/2 sheet scrapping the homework over pages 183-184.  Then, the students performed the Lab- Chemical Bonding.  Finally, I assigned the review on Pages 216-217 # 2-9, 11, 15, 20, 22, 23, 27, 29-34.  The Bonding Test is tomorrow.

Friday September 23th

AP Biology- First, the students took the quiz over chapter 53.  Then, they took notes over 54.1, 54.2, & 54.3.


Biology A- To start things off, the students took the Chapter 6 Test.  Then, they read chapter 7.  Finally, I asked them to find a diagram of a microscope on the internet.


Chemistry A- Today, the students went to the media center to work on WebAssign.

Thursday September 22th

AP Biology- During class, the students finished Part 12B of the lab.  Then, the students started to work on the lab calculations.  There will be a quiz over Chapter 53 tomorrow.


Biology A- Today, the students graded two assignments (DNA worksheet and Chapter 6 Review).  Then, we did a post lab discussion on investigation 4.2.  There will be a test over Chapter 6 tomorrow.


Chemistry A- First, we went over the covalent bonding quiz.  Next, the students took notes over ionic bonds and ionic compounds.  Then, I assigned Page 183-184 # 1-4, 7-13, 16, 23, 25-28.

Wednesday September 21th

AP Biology- At the beginning of class, the students set up Lab #12B and took DO samples of the initial lake water.  Next, we took notes over section 54.1.


Biology A- Today, the students completed part B of the Inv. 4.2 from the BSCS book.  After the lab, I assigned the chapter 6 review questions on pages 175-177 # 1-8, 14-20, 25-32, 38-44, & 47.


Chemistry A- First, the student took the quiz over Covalent Bonds #2.  Then, they worked on the Lab- Molecular Models.  If the students didn't complete the lab, they should come to Room 111 during advisory to work on the lab.

Tuesday September 20th

AP Biology- Today, the students performed Part A of Lab #12.  Tomorrow, they will continue working on Lab #12.


Biology A- First, the students graded worksheet 6.4.  Next, I did a demonstration on how the positive test results would look for INV. 4.2.  Finally, I assigned a worksheet over DNA.


Chemistry A- To start things off, the students took notes over polar bonds, polar molecules and were told to take notes over Inter-molecular Attractions in their book.  Next, we graded the covalent bond quiz from yesterday.  Tomorrow, the students will have another quiz over covalent bonding.

Monday September 19th

AP Biology- Today, the students started class by completing the Lab Assessment for the Biodegradable Wastes Lab.  Then, we took notes over Chapter 53.4, 53.5 and 53.6.  Finally, the students were assigned to read Lab #12 and either the Winkler Titration or the LaMotte Dissolved Oxygen procedure.


Biology A- First, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the 6.4 Assessment questions.  Next, they handed in the Lab#3- Acids and Bases.  Third, the class took notes over 6.4 (DNA).  Finally, I assigned two things (Project- Eat at a Fast Food Restaurant and Worksheet 6.4).


Chemistry A- To start things off, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the worksheets over Electron Dot Notation and Lewis Structures.  Next, they took a quiz over covalent bonding.  Finally, the students took notes over VSEPR Theory, Resonance Structures and Coordinate Covalent Bonds.

AP Biology- First, the students handed in "The History of Evolution" Project.  Next, they took a quiz over chapter 52.  Finally, we took notes over Chapter 53 sections 1, 2, and 3.  The Effect of Biodegradable Wastes on Dissolved Oxygen lab will be assessed on Monday.


Biology A- Today, we started class by taking the Vocabulary Quiz #2.  Next, the students took notes over Chapter 6.4 (Carbohydrates, Lipids and Proteins).  Finally, I assigned the 6.4 Assessment questions # 1, 2, and 4. 


Chemistry A- To start things off, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped their homework.  Next, they took notes over the electron dot notation, the octet rule and Lewis structures.  Finally, I assigned two worksheets (Electron Dot Notation and Lewis Structures).  There will be a Covalent Bond quiz on Monday.

AP Biology- First, the students took notes over the end of 52.3 and 52.4.  Next, I showed them the web site PH School- The Biology Place. Finally, I reminded the students that they will have a Chapter 52 quiz tomorrow.


Biology A- To start class off, the students graded the Chapter 6 quiz from yesterday.  Then, they continued to work on the Computer Lab #3 (Acids and Bases).  Remember that the second vocabulary quiz is tomorrow.


Chemistry A- Today, the students took notes over Bonding and how to determine if the bond is ionic or covalent.  Then, I assigned a worksheet (What type of bond?) and reading from the book (Pages 158-165).  The students should answer questions #1-13 on page 165.

Biology A- Class started by the students 1/2 sheet scrapping assessment questions over 6.1 and 6.2. Next, the class started the Computer Lab #3 over acids and bases.  Finally, I assigned a worksheet over 6.3.


Chemistry A- First, the students graded the quiz over the Periodic Table and Periodicity.  Next, we went to the Media Center to work on WebAssign.  The WebAssign is due tomorrow and the Test over Atoms, Electron Configurations and The Periodic Law is tomorrow.

Monday September 12th

AP Biology- To start off class, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped their Chapter 24 worksheet.  Next, I worked the problems from the Hardy-Weinberg Quiz.  Third, the students completed the Lab #8 Assessment.  Finally, we reviewed Lab #8.  Tomorrow we will start Unit Two: Ecology.

Biology A- Class started by discussing the graphs from Investigation 4.3.  Next, the students took notes over section 3 of Chapter 6.  Finally, I walked the students through Logger Pro and how to use the computer probes.  I assigned the assessment questions for Section 6.1 and 6.2.

Chemistry A- First, the students graded the electron configurations quiz that they took on Friday.  Next, they took a periodic table quiz.  Finally, the students started to work on a Periodic Table Lab.  FYI: Wednesday will be the Test over Atoms, Arrangement of Electrons and The Periodic Law.  Also, the WebAssign is due on Wednesday.

The PACK did alot of celebrating last night in their 42-34 win!!!!!!

AP Biology- First, the student took a quiz over Hardy-Weinberg.  Next, the students took notes on 24.2 and 24.4.  After we discussed the project "The History of Everything: Actual Time Line", I assigned a worksheet over chapter 24.

Biology A- Today, the students finished Investigation 4.3.  Each group has a graph due on Monday.

Chemistry A- To start things off, the students took a quiz over electron configurations.  Then, they took notes on periodic trends.  There will be a quiz over the Periodic Table and Periodic Trends on Monday.

Chemistry A- Today, the students got into co-operative learning groups to go over their electron configurations worksheet.  Next, we took notes over the periodic table.  I posted a new WebAssign yesterday.

AP Biology- Class started by 1/2 sheet scrapping the worksheet over chapter 23.  Next, the class discussed the chapter 23 worksheet.  Third, we finished the notes over chapter 23.  Finally, the students completed part A and Case Study I of Lab #8.  The students should be prepared to complete Lab #8 tomorrow.

Biology A- First, we took notes over section 2 of Chapter 6.  Next, I performed a demo on how to set up the BSCS INV. 4.3.  Finally, I assigned worksheet 6.1 and 6.2 and the pre-lab questions on BSCS        INV 4.3.

Chemistry A- To start class off, the students review quantum numbers.  Next, we took notes over electron configurations.  Finally, I assigned a worksheet over electron configurations.

Biology A- First, the class took notes over Chapter 6 section one.  Then, we did a pre-lab for Activity 4.3 of the BSCS book. 

Chemistry- Today, the students took notes over atomic orbitals and quantum numbers.

Biology A- First, the students took Vocabulary Quiz #1.  Next, the class took the Chapter 1 Test.  Finally, I asked the students to read chapter 6.

Chemistry A- Today we started by 1/2 sheet scrapping the worksheet over measurements and calculations.  Next, I collected the Lab- Density of an Unknown Metal.  Finally, we took notes over foundations of the atomic theory and the structure of atoms.

AP Biology- First, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the Chapter 22 worksheet.  After going over the worksheet, the students completed the Lab # 11 Animal Behavior assessment.  Finally, I gave a powerpoint presentation of Chapter 23.1 and started 23.2. 

Biology A- To start things off, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the Chapter 1 assessment questions.  Next, they graded the Chapter 1 Review.  Finally, the students completed the Lab- Yeast/ Molasses.  Tomorrow, the students have a Vocab Quiz and the Chapter 1 Test.

Chemistry A- Today, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the units of measurement worksheet.  Next, the performed the Density of an Unknown Metal lab.  The lab will be collected tomorrow.  I assigned a worksheet over Measurements and Calculations.
