If you were absent on Wednesday December 15

Chemistry A- I took a completion grade on the Electron Configuration worksheet. We reviewed the worksheet and talked about the Noble Gas configuration as well as other subjects (valence electrons, number of orbitals and electrons on each energy level)etc. Next, I lectured on Mendeleev and the first Periodic Table. We discussed the differences of the modern Periodic Table to Mendeleev's table. We concluded our discussion with names and characteristics of the s, p, d and f blocks of the Periodic Table. Electron Configuration Quiz tomorrow.

Intro to Chemistry- The students took the Test over Chapter 18 and density. I assigned new vocabulary words (Chapter 19) and a new method to completing the vocabulary assignment. Finally, I asked the students to read chapter 19.

Integrated Science B- First, I collected the Taxonomy Project. Next, we went over the quiz we took yesterday. Finally, I gave notes on Ecology. We didn't complete the notes, so I did not assign the worksheet. The students will get that worksheet tomorrow. The Ecology quiz has been bumped back to Friday.

If you were absent on Tuesday December 14

Chemistry A- We started off the period by reviewing Quantum Numbers. Next, we worked examples on Electron Configurations. Finally, the students worked with their clock partners on the Electron Configuration Worksheet. I will take a completion grade on this on Wednesday.

Intro to Chemistry- First, the class took a quiz on Density. After grading the quiz, we graded the Chapter 18 Review on page 572. Finally, I handed out a bonus review sheet. We will have the Chapter 18 and Density Test on Wednesday (12/15).

Integrated Science B- We took a quiz over taxonomy to start the period. Next, the students grouped their taxonomy projects into Kingdom, Phylum, genus and species. The Taxonomy Project will be turned in tomorrow.

If you were absent on Friday December 10th

Chemistry A- Due to the 2 hour delay, we will not have a worksheet due on Monday. We had a lecture on Atomic orbitals and Quantum Numbers. As class time ran out, we were discussing Electron configurations. We will continue with this discussion on Monday and the Electron Configuration worksheet will be due on Tuesday.

Intro to Chemistry- Since we had a two hour delay, we didn't do the lab in class. Instead, I demonstrated how to find the density of a gas. I collected a gas in a bottle and used the law of conservation of mass to find the density. Finally, the homework assignment was page 272-273 #1-17 & 26. On Monday, the students will have a quiz on density. The chapter 18 test will be on Tuesday Dec. 14.

Integrated Science B- The students worked on the Taxomony Project. All fourteen organisms must be drawn and colored by Monday. Also, we will have a Taxonomy Quiz on Monday.
