    Chemistry B- Class started with the collection of the Melting and Freezing lab from yesterday. Next, I presented notes over solutions, suspensions, colloids and electrolytes vs. nonelectrolytes. Finally, I showed the students demonstrations of a colloid and how to test for electrolytes.



      Biology B- Today, the students took the Chapter 13 Test. After the test, they were instructed to read Chapters 14 and 15 for tomorrow.

      Chemistry B- Today, the students completed Chemistry with Computers Lab #2- Freezing and Melting of Water. Biology B- First, the students gave their poster presentations. Then, we graded the Chapter 13 Review on Pages 383-385. Next, the students 1/2 Sheet Scrapped the Chapter 13 Assessment Questions. Finally, the students found a partner and studied for the Chapter 13 Test that will be tomorrow.

      Chemistry B- Today in class, I presented a powerpoint on Phases of Matter. After we completed the presentation, the students read chapter 11. Biology B- The students finished and saved their Biotechnology Posters. Next, they worked on the Chapter Review on Pages 383-385. We will grade this tomorrow.

      Chemistry B- Today, the student took the Test over Stoichiometry. Biology B- During class today, the students went to the Media Center to work on their Biotechnology Poster Project.

      If you were absent on Friday March 25th

      Chemistry B- Due to the schoolwide computer problem, the Stoichiometry Test was postponed until Monday. Instead, the students worked on a Stoichiometry Review Worksheet. This will be bonus on the Test.

      Biology B- Due to the schoolwide computer problem, the Biotechnology Research Project was modified. I assigned topics to the students. The students got into groups and discussed the project and how to break up the tasks. Finally, we watched a video over DNA called Double Helix Detectives.

      Chemistry B- Class started by discussing percent yield calculations. Next, I worked examples of the Ideal Gas Law and gave notes over the Ideal Gas Law. Finally, the students worked on their WebAssign in the Media Center.

      Biology B- First, I collected the worksheet over Chapter 13 Section 2. Next, I presented the Chapter 13 Section 3 notes. Third, the students worked on the Recombinant Paper Plasmid project. Finally, I assigned the Section 3 Chapter 13 worksheet and the Section 3 Assessment Questions on page 379 #1-4.

      Chemistry B- First, the class did a 1/2 sheet scrap over the limiting reagent worksheet. Next, I put on the SmartBoard the quiz. The students compared their results to the answer key. Then, I demonstrated two examples of percent yield. Finally, we went to the Media Center to work on WebAssign.

      Biology B- Class started by completing the notes over section 2 of Chapter 13. Next, I discussed the scissors lab from yesterday. After demonstrating tomorrows lab, I assigned two things (Worksheet over section 2 of Chapter 13 and the Chapter 13.2 assessment questions.

      Chemistry B- First, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the two worksheets from Friday (Mass-Volume and Volume-Volume). Second, I presented Limiting Reagents and worked some examples of Limiting Reagents. Finally, I assigned a worksheet over Limiting Reagents.

      Biology B- To start things off, I presented notes over Chapter 13 Sections 1 and 2. After the notes, the students were assigned a worksheet over Chapter 13 Section 1 and the assessment questions on page 362 #1-4.

      Chemistry B- Class started by taking a quiz over Stoichiometry. Next, the students got into groups and discussed the Limiting Reagent worksheet.

      Biology B- First, the class graded the worksheet over section 1 of Chapter 13. Next, the students did a lab on restriction enzymes.

      Chemistry B- First, we went over the quiz that the students took on Wednesday. Next, I worked example problems of mass to volume and volume to volume. Finally, I assigned two worksheets (Mass to Volume and Volume to Volume).

      Biology B- Today, the students took the Chapter 12 Test. After the test, the students took Vocab Quiz #7. Finally, the class was assigned to read Chapter 13.

      Chemistry B- During class, the students completed the lab on mole and mass relationship. The lab is due tomorrow.

      Biology B- First, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped their assessment questions. Next, we graded the Worksheet over Chapter 12 Section 4. Finally, I assigned the Chapter 12 Review on pages 353-355 # 1-8, 12-17, 22-27, 30-36. The Chapter 12 Test, as well as a vocabulary quiz, will be tomorrow.

      If you were absent on Wednesday March 16th

      Chemistry B- First, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the Mass-Mass Calculations #1 worksheet. Next, they took a Mass to Mass Quiz. Finally, we went to the Media Center to work on the WebAssign.

      Biology B- Class started by finishing the Chapter 12 notes (Mutations). Then, I assigned two items for homework. One, the students need to complete the Chapter 12 assessment questions. They will be graded tomorrow. Second, the students need to complete the Section 4 Study Guide. It will also be graded tomorrow. The Chapter 12 Test is on Friday along with a Vocabulary Quiz.

      Chemistry B- To begin class, I collected the Stoichiometry Lab that we completed yesterday. Next, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the Mass-Mass Problems #1-5. Finally, I assigned the worksheet Mass-Mass Calculations #1. The students have a Mass-Mass Quiz tomorrow.

      Biology B- First, the students graded the worksheet over Section 3 of Chapter 12. Next, they completed a project on Transcription/ Translation.

      Chemistry B- First, the students finished massing the copper from Friday's Lab. Next, I gave notes and worked examples on Mass to Mass Conversions. Finally, I assigned a worksheet over Mass to Mass problems (#1-5).

      Biology B- To start class, the students took notes over Section 3 of Chapter 12. Then, I gave the class time to complete the questions on the Replication Activity from Friday. Finally, I gave the class two assignments (Section 3 Study Guide and Section 3 Assessment Questions).

      Chemistry B- First, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the worksheet over mole to mole conversions. Then, the class performed the lab- Stoichiometry in a Single Replacement Reaction. The lab will be finished on Monday and is due Tuesday.

      Biology B- Class started by grading the worksheets over Chapter 12 Sections 1 & 2. Next, the students started working on a DNA Replication Activity. The students will finish the activity on Monday.

      Chemistry B- Starting things off, the class discussed the Chemical Quantities review worksheet. Next, the students took notes off of the SmartBoard on molar ratios. After working a couple of mole to mole conversions, I assigned a worksheet on Mole-Mole conversions.

      Biology B- First, I explained to the students how their assessment questions would be evaluated. Next, we finished notes on Chapter 12 section 1 and took notes on Chapter 12 section 2. Finally, I assigned a worksheet on Chapter 12 Sections 1 & 2 Study Guide. We will grade this worksheet first thing tomorrow.

      Chemistry B- First, I assigned the students to their seats and went over classroom rules. Next, I discussed my Blog (Braun's Beaker Blog) and showed the students my website. Then, we discussed Tornado and Fire Drill procedures. Finally, I assigned a worksheet over Chemical Quantities review.

      Biology B- To start things off, I assigned the students to their seats and discussed the classroom rules. Second, the students filled out the clock partner sheet. Third, I showed the students my website and told them about the blog (Braun's Beaker Blog). Fourth, we discussed Fire and Tornado Drill procedures. Fifth, I gave notes over Chapter 12- Molecular Genetics. Finally, I assigned the Assessment Questions on 12.1 (#1, 2, & 4).

      Chemistry A- First, the students took a quiz over reaction predictions. Next, the class worked on their WebAssign. The WebAssign is due Tuesday morning.

      Intro to Chemistry- The class began by grading the worksheet over Chapter 24 Key Terms. Next, the students took notes over the Chapter 24 section 4 powerpoint. Finally, I assigned two worksheet (Chapter 24 sections 3 & 4 and Acids, Bases and Salts reinforcment.

      Integrated Science B- The students worked on the OGT Practice Test # 2 on the ODE website.

      If you were absent on Thursday March 3rd

      Chemistry A- The class took notes on the final two types of reactions (double replacement and combustion). Then, we went to the media center to work on our WebAssign. There will be a quiz over reaction predictions tomorrow.

      Intro to Chemistry- First, we graded the worksheet over Chapter 24 sections 1 & 2. Next, the class took notes off of the Chapter 24 Powerpoint. Third, the students took a Chapter 24 vocabulary quiz. Finally, I assigned as worksheet over Chapter 24 Key Terms.

      Integrated Science B- To start thing off, the students review IEY Activity 16. Next, we took notes on Activity 16 and discussed the models of Acid/Base neutralization. Finally, I assigned Page 100-101 #1-8.

      Chemistry A- To start things off, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the balancing equations worksheet. Next, they took notes over decomposition reactions and single replacement reactions. Finally, I reminded the student to continue to work on their WebAssign.

      Intro to Chemistry- First, the students took notes from the Powerpoint of section 2 in Chapter 24. Next, I assigned a worksheet over Sections 1 and 2 of Chapter 24. Finally, I reminded the students that the vocab words are due tomorrow.

      Integrated Science B- The class worked on Activity 16 of the IEY book over Acid-Base Neutralization. This investigation is on Page 96-97 of the IEY book.

      If you were absent on Tuesday March 1st

      Chemistry A- Class started by the students taking notes on how to balance equations. Next, I gave examples of combination reactions on the smartboard. Finally, I assigned a worksheet over balancing equations.

      Intro to Chemistry- First, the students took notes over the powerpoint on Section 1 of Chapter 24. Then, I handed out the Chapter 24 Vocabulary word. The Chapter 24 vocab cards are due on Thursday.

      Integrated Science B- During this period, the students completed Activiey 15 of the IEY book on Serial Dilutions of Acids and Bases. The student colored the diagrams and answered the two data processing questions.
