AP Biology- Today, the students 1/2 Sheet Scrapped the DNAI worksheet.  Next,  the students discussed Lab #6 Parts A & B.  Then, I assigned the worksheet "Who Ate the Cheese?"  Tomorrow is the Quest over Chapters 19 and 20.


Chemistry A- First, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the single replacement worksheet.  Then, they performed the Lab- Composition / Decomposition.

Friday February 17th

AP Biology- At the beginning of class, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the two worksheets from earlier in the week.  Next, they Stained their gels and destained the gels.  Finally, I assigned the worksheet over DNA Fingerprinting (DNAI) due Tuesday.


Chemistry A- First, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the two worksheets from yesterday.  Then, they took notes over single replacement reactions.  Finally, I assigned the worksheet Single Replacements (SR1).

Thursday February 16th

AP Biology- During class, the students performed the set up for Lab #6B.  They cast the agarose gels.  Then, they loaded the gels with DNA.  Finally, they started the electrophoresis.


Chemistry A- Today, the students took notes over Combination (Synthesis) and Decomposition Reactions.  Then, I assigned two worksheets (Synthesis S1 and Decomposition D2).

Wednesday February 15th

AP Biology- First, the students made observations and cleaned up Lab #6A.  Then, they practiced loading gel plates for electrophoresis.  Finally, I assigned the DNA Scissors Activity and to read Lab #6B.


Chemistry A- To start class off, the students took notes over chemical reactions.  Next, they took notes and I worked examples of balancing equations.  Third, I informed the students that they needed to print off the Reaction Prediction Outline from the website.  Finally, I assigned HW #6.1 Equations_Balancing

Monday February 13th

AP Biology- To start things off, the students set up part A of Lab #6.  While waiting for the tubes to cool, we finished the notes over Chapter 20 Section 4.  


Chemistry A- Today, the students took the Test over Chemical Quantities.

Friday February 10th

AP Biology- Today, we took notes over Chapter 20 Sections 2, 3, and 4.  Students should read Lab #6A- Transformations.


Chemistry A- First, the students took a pre-lab quiz.  Next, they performed the Lab- Empirical Formula Determination.

Thursday February 9th

AP Biology- To start class off, the students finished notes over Chapter 20 section 1.  Then, we took notes over Section 2 of Chapter 20.  Finally, I assigned the Recombinant Paper Plasmid paper.


Chemistry- First, the students turned in the Lab over Percent Composition.  After turning in the lab, the students took a Quiz- Molar Conversions II.  Next, we worked examples on Empirical and Molecular Formula.  
I reminded the class about the pre-lab quiz tomorrow over the Empirical Formula Lab.

Wednesday February 8th

AP Biology- Today, the students 1/2 sheet scrapped the Chapter 19 Study Guide.  Then, they took notes over Chapter 20 Section 1.  


Chemistry A- During class, the students performed the Lab- Finding the Percent Composition of Oxygen in Potassium Chlorate.  The lab will be collected tomorrow.  Also, there will be a quiz over Molar Conversions tomorrow.

Tuesday February 7th

AP Biology- During class, the students finished taking notes over Chapter 19.  Then, I assigned a Study Guide over Chapter 19.


Chemistry A- First, the students took a quiz over Molar Conversions I.  After the quiz, I worked examples of how to calculate percent composition.  Finally, the students worked on WebAssign HW# 5.4.

Monday February 6th

AP Biology- To start class off, the students review Essay Question #6.  Next, we started notes over Chapter 19 Sections 1 & 2.


Chemistry A- First, we review any question over WebAssign 5.3 and 5.10.  Next, the students performed the lab over gram atomic mass of an element.

Friday February 3rd

AP Biology- Today the student took the Unit 7A Test.


Chemistry A- To start things off, the students took the Formative Assessment Top 25 #2.  After completing this, they worked on WebAssign (HW # 5.3 and 5.10) due Monday.

Thursday February 2nd

AP Biology- Today the students reviewed Chapters 13, 16 and 17.  Tomorrow will be the Unit 7A Test!!!

Chemistry A- To begin class, I answered questions on the WebAssign homework.  Next, the students took notes over Molar volume and Density.  Then, we went to the Media Center to work on WebAssign.

Wednesday February 1st

AP Biology- Today, the students finished notes over Chapter 17 (Sections 5 & 6).  Then, we got on the Pearson's website and review transcription and translation.  The Unit 7A test will be on Friday covering Chapters 13, 16, & 17.


Chemistry A- First, I took a completion grade over the worksheet Converting Using Avogadro's Number.  Then, the students worked with one of their clock partners to check the worksheet.  Next, I worked two problems on the SmartBoard that the students still has questions with.  After taking notes and working examples of Mole to Mass conversions, the class went to the Media Center to work on WebAssign.
